Aging Services offers an array of Programs and Services. These include:
• Alternatives - In-home services for medically frail adults at-risk for entering a nursing home.
• Caregiver Support – Assistance in care planning, respite care and supplemental services.
• Healthy Aging – Classes on nutrition, stress management, memory, infectious and chronic diseases, health screenings,
and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
• Meals On Wheels - Delivers hot noon meals to frail and isolated older adults who are homebound, unable to prepare
meals, and without family or others to help with meal preparation.
• Outreach - Provides information on services and programs available to seniors in Salt Lake County.
• Senior Centers – There are eighteen Senior Centers in the county; most are open Monday through Friday. Some offer
evening programs. All have transportation available if necessary.
• Senior Citizen Law Center - Assistance in the areas of health, housing, public benefits and entitlements, family, and
consumer issues.
• Senior Companion – Help with light housecleaning, meal preparation, socialization, rides to doctor appointments,
and limited personal care. Must be 60 or older, in need of assistance in maintaining independence or in need of respite
for your caregiver.
• Senior Employment - The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a federally funded worktraining
program for County residents 55 or older. Paid on-the-job-skills training, computer training, job search
assistance, resume’ assistance and interview coaching.
• Senior Transportation - Rides to life-sustaining medical appointments and essential destinations. Must be 60 years
of age or older and lack other transportation options.
